Lately, the State Government of Andhra Pradesh has got confirmation to get a loan of $770 billion (Rs 3720 crore) from the World Bank. Rs 1568 Crore, major share of the sanctioned amount goes to R&B Department for the development of Roads. Rest would be used for Urban (Municipal) Development and RWS (Rural Water Supply).
On the other hand NHAI announced several packages to execute the works. Rs 12,000 Cr Hyderabad Metro Rail Project will also be commenced by one of the eight players, (companies and consortia) who have applied for pre-qualification for development of the project - L&T, Lanco-OHL (Spain), Reliance (Anil Ambani), Essar-Leighton (Australia)-Gayatri-VNR consortium, GVK-Samsung (South Korea) consortium, GMR, Transstroy-OJSC (Russia)-CR 18 (China)-BEML consortium, and Soma-Strabag (Austria) consortium.
With all the announced projects, Telangana region, including Hyderabad will get an infrastructural benefit of Rs 15000 Crores or above. Excluding the Non-AP contractors, most of them belong to “Seemandhra”. Telangana JAC, the shadow of TRS has given a call to all Government employee unions to pen down and express non-cooperation to Government. By doing this they are not blocking the administration, but the dreams and living of common man are getting blocked! Can the Telangana politicos and protagonists ask the World Bank representatives and infrastructure developers to stop lending/participating and ask the Govt to stop development in this region?
Never! Because they want “golden” Hyderabad and they need good relations with WB to get their major irrigation projects running, if Telangana occurs (and if they remain committed for the regional development).
