Threat of Global Warming - Two Simple Things We Can do about it!

I am not aware of this movement until i get an email from Pramod. Thanks to him.. watch this before reading his mail.

here it is..

Extreme temperatures, intense storms, floods and droughts - all of us know about the effects of global warming. What stumps us, however, is understanding 'What can I do as an individual to reduce the effects?' The answer is simple - plant a tree and forward this to as many people as you know encouraging them to do the same.

The domino effect from this small effort will be incredibly positive to the environment. The numbers are mind boggling. Read on... Let's say you forward this email to 10 of your friends, and each one in turn forwards it 10 more friends, and this chain goes on for just 7 cycles. YOU have just increased the awareness of 10 Million people. Yes, it is as simple as that. If each person who receives this email plants 5 trees on average, that is 50 Million trees planted with minimal effort.
 
There is a global initiative called "Mission Green Earth" with the objective of planting 100 Million trees worldwide by July 31st 2009. Don't miss the opportunity to be a part of this initiative. For more information, go to www.standuptakeaction.org.
 
Best part, you don't have to have a huge plot of land or even a backyard to do this. Every plant, big or small, counts. Even plants in pots make a difference (vegetables and herbs too).

That's a great number of trees to be planted. I wasn't aware of this movement either. This is a valuable cause to at least prevent the horrifying global warming.
