IPL, the second most innovative company in the area of sports (followed by ESPN, according to US business magazine Fast Company) and 22nd most innovative company in the world has become a venue for peculiar issues, as the intervention of Indian cinema and politics is increasing day by day. IPL is regulating the time and fate of world cricketers through franchises, which are either owned by movie stars or by barons whose image works well in power corridors.
MPC of India
In India M (Movies),P (Politics) , and C (Cricket) are always fresh and hot. It seems the first two got control on the third one. All is well until it bred more concerns in the process of bidding and winning franchises, such as “localism” (the L Modi and N Modi), and sort of “allurement” (between Sasi Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar).
Modi is “Bindas” as usual

Amidst all these favoritisms IPL is going successfully with selection of new franchises and cricket seasons. What made Mr Modi to write about Tharoor on his unofficial space: Lalit Modi had a sour relationship with Gabriella Demetriades, who was one of the most beautiful contestants in Miss IPL Bollywood in South Africa and this is cited as one of the reasons she didn't win the contest. Mr Modi further requested Dr Shashi Tharoor to deny visa to her in January 2010. Dr Tharoor didn't respond positively and relations between both of them started going bad resulting in present controversy.
Then Lalit Modi tweeted. If it’s just a tweet, how can it be heard by Manmohan Singh who was on a visit to US? (and kicked out Dr Tharoor from Cabinet of India!)
Sasi Tharoor is out from the Union Council of Ministers
Despite all his protective measures to support himself and defame Lalit Modi through some national news channels, Dr Tharoor failed to escape from the surveillance of Sonia and demands of Opposition, to remove him on grounds of corruption and his role in the allotment of sweat equity of the value of Rs 70 crore to his friend Sunanda Pushkar by the IPL Kochi franchise.
Mr Tharoor met the Prime Minister late hours of Sunday, for the second time, following which Mr Singh held a meeting with Core Committee including Sonia Gandhi.

Tailpiece: It’s part of the game. But, instead of adding a dash of cricketing spirit, IPL is failing to enthrall Indian viewers. Reason number one is that it’s become like a daily show on TV, second being the viewer bias - there is no common team for cricket lovers of India to call it as their “favorite squad” .
