Politicians' opportunism on Resignation

24. May 2009 by close to reality 0 Comments

Most of our politicians have two totally different views on the term "Resignation".

If you ask a politician, 'due to the failure of your party in the recent elections, is your party president going to resign?' (or) 'because of your party's poor performance in the recent elections, are you going to take the responsibility and resign to your post?', then generally the answer will be something like this "To Resign means running away from the responsibilites, no he/I won't do that"

But at least ten times a year, the same politician will demand the leaders from the other political parties "to resign from prime minister/chief minister/home minister by taking the responsibility for the failure of the government in certain issue"

which means, these type of politicians will have two convenient arguments for themselves.. one, when the resignation issue comes to themselves/their party.. other one, when it belongs to the other parties.. Btw, though this is applicable for the most politicians, i wrote this particular post when i heard the answer from seetharam echuri in replying to a reporter's question about prakash karat's resignation.. Cool By now you might be guessing what Seetharam echuri's reply is.. right?
