Wonderful, now that the government is in a position to be answerable to the people let us wait and see whether this court case will make the government to move or not..

"NEW DELHI: A public interest petition filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday asked that the Centre should engage in pro-active diplomacy to stop racial attacks against Indian students in Australia.

The PIL petitioner Ranbir Yadav, through counsel D K Garg, apprised the apex court of the statistics -- the 97,000-strong Indian student community comprises 18% of the total international student population in the country of which over 47,000 are enrolled in Victoria alone.

Giving details of racist attacks on Indian students, the petitioner said "there were 36,765 victims of crimes such as robberies and assaults, of which 24,260 were Caucasian and 1,447 were of Indian origin".
