L.K.Advani On Sufism

26. April 2009 by close to reality 0 Comments

India branded him as a pure Hinduist. Oh! i am sorry for the word "India", it supposed to be "the World". World knows him as a Hinduist by his heart and soul. Sonia calls him as a slave of RSS. It is not so easy to get out of one's Image once one got the Image. Same goes to Lal Krishna Advani. He is contesting for the Prime Minister's post this time but still couldn't bring out himself or his party from the Hindutwa Image. He understands well that 'Prime Minister' is one who is the representative of all Indians but not just hindus. So now he is trying his best to getaway from that image but it is not going to be an easy task for him anyway. Who will believe if i say 'I am drinking milk while sitting under a palm tree?'. Now Advaniji's situation is like that. He wants BJP to rule, but BJP has got an Image which is very very strong and i can say there is no other national level party which has got such a strong image.

Coming to the point, I was surprised for a while when I saw something about Sufism (“a science whose objective is the reparation of the heart and turning it away from all else but God.” Sufism refers to a group of mystical Muslim movements.)  on Advani's blog. I did ask myself whether i was at a wrong place or what, but actually no. Its true that the mentioning of Sufism on his site. So i decided to read until the end, generally which i will not do at politician's sites as we all know whatever the politicians put it up on their individual blog/site is to promote themselves in some way or the other. I won't deny the fact that this Sufism article is also one such thing, but i am surprised to know that the person whom i branded as a hindusit as well, got some thing else inside him which i do not know all this while and which i wouldn't know forever if i didn't read it last night. I am not sure how many of the leaders (sonia, Manmohan, etc., etc., so called secular leaders) have visited a dargah for prayers, but this old man (sorry, steel man) did that. For a while i was admired when i read these few lines from his speech which he has given on the request of the people attended those prayers.

He said: “India is a multi-religious country and people belonging to all faiths strive to be good people. That is why every community comes to this dargah. Let us be good human beings first. It does not matter if one believes in Ishwar or Allah.” He said although the twentieth century was identified with the Western world, “if all communities here worked hard unitedly, then the twenty-first century will certainly belong to Bharat.” To this the crowds responded with “Aameen”. (So be it).’ (‘A surprise: Advani prays at Ajmer dargah’; The Times of India; 4 December 2000) Later, when a journalist asked me whether my visit to the dargah was part of a larger image changing exercise, I replied, ‘My perceptions have always been clear. I am saying the same things now what I said twenty-five years ago.’

I don't know whether BJP will win or not, I don't know whether Advani will win or not, and i don't really bother who wins the elections, but one thing we all have to agree with him is.. Yes, if all communities here worked hard unitedly, then the 21st century will certainly belong to my Country.. India. Mera Bharat Mahan.

It will only happen when the world looks at the individual and his ideas first, not his race and religion. But unfortunately like advani and BJP's image, there are some religions have got the image too. (known as religion of terrorists etc., i think here i don't need to mention specially which religion has got that image) But like advani is doing, the rest of the BJP leaders have to try to get the clean image in the view of public. And like advani is doing, those people from the so called religions have to try to come out from the image of jihadis and terrorists by gaining confidence in the eyes of the world and from their fellow citizens..
