USP is important in the business
of politics too. Politicos, especially leaders try to become iconic with a
theme. Unfortunately, the same USP makes them unsold when it is not used
properly during the time of elections! - as ‘tech’ factor worked against
Chandrababu.
That was what happened in the
case of our Pink Brigade and their master chef. Since the time of its inception he has been referring to cookbook
and chanting the recipe’s name “Separate Telangana”.
Aren’t the people of Telangana
looking for a separate state? Yes, majority are. That’s what the reason for
strong presence of TRS and its success afterwards. What is so special about
separate Telangana? Telangana has vast resources of minerals and open land that
is unused and of course, Krishna and Godavari. They will probably get command
and control on usage of these resources. Chandrasekhar Rao became popular with
this slogan.
He had been convincing those
eagerly waiting people that the hot recipe was just ready to serve. Some of the
main heads and assistants also lost interest in the formula of recipe. In the
due course, Khadi leaders whose
mantra is “development and stability” dismissed the whole stunt saying that the
special dish was in Sonia Gandhi’s (Neither Union Ministry nor a deputed
commission?) hands.
With no progress in the cooking
process and no developments around KCR came out of the kitchen with his team and
restarted the episode. Surely, an experiment with people who are hungry and who
banked lots of hopes on TRS.
It’s a million dollar question - what
made him to take such a foolish decision when people already recognised him as
voice of separate Telangana movement and proclaimed the same with 200 thousand
majority of polls. Making fun of vote, the powerful democratic right, he went
on resignation spree again.
He knew where it went foul; he
realised and announced his resignation to party supremo’s role taking
reasonability to their defeat in recent by-elections. Aides and other key personnel convinced him to continue as their
leader. He has withdrawn his resignation. That is not the end of show.
He missed out the action plan in
his last account and was pulling the same string. “Ignoring the issue of
Telangana, no party can survive politically.
Even an AK 47 aimed at my heart can’t stop this movement. We will go
more energetic correcting mistakes”....blah blah.
Except these volatile words,
there was no concrete plan or even a word that they would plan out the things
for next year on several issues of concern like health, villages-starving-to
death, labour welfare, early marriages, water, etc.
He is still focusing on his age
old USP and trying to shout yet louder with rejuvenated spirit! Like all other
parties they have wasted 4 year with mere words, no talk about how they can
fortify the progress of Telangana if they become separate. No comparison
between their actions (?) in last 4 years, being united with A.P., and how
their “Separate Telangana” can add value to those actions further.
Unless they find actions speak
louder than words and utilise this one year period carefully, TRS would remain
a faded pink paradox of history.
